About us:
The Perioperative Unit is located in West Wing of the Gladstone Hospital. The Gladstone Hospital has two operating rooms and a procedure room. Services include elective and emergency surgery, Day Surgery, Pre-Anaesthetic Clinic, and CSSD (Central Sterilising Services Department). The Perioperative Unit provides clinical care through the development and maintenance of relevant and proven patient care standards involving ongoing research in clinical applications. The CSSD unit is in Block 2 of Gladstone hospital and has undergone a recent refurbishment.
About the role:
We are looking for a Nurse Grade 5 holding or working towards a Cert 3 in Sterilisation Services, and a registered nurse who provides nursing services within health service setting and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by registration requirements, National and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation, and context of care.
- Assumes accountability and responsibility for own actions and delegation of care to enrolled nurses, assistants in nursing and healthcare workers.
- Deliver a high standard of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation by using clinical nursing expertise.
About you:
To be successful in this role you must have:
- A current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- The willingness to acquire a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services
- The ability to demonstrate a high standard of written and oral communication skills with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and their families.
- Proven ability to provide clinical education and support and demonstrate own ongoing professional development.
- The ability to critically think in relation to planning and responding to a potentially rapidly changing environment regarding safe patient centred care.

Total remuneration value of up to $43,318 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary between $40.51 – $51.97 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
