This is an opportunity for a senior lawyer with leadership skills and sound judgement to manage a legal and legislation team in WA’s principal emergency management and response agency.

About the Role
In this role you will be managing a team of legal, legislation and policy officers to deliver advice and guidance to the Department, Commissioner and Minister. You will advise on complex and varied legal issues including commercial matters, worker health and safety, industrial relations and legislation in the Minister’s portfolio and more broadly.
An integral part of this role will involve strong leadership and guidance. You will work with many different stakeholders in a time critical environment and need to convey information to a variety of audiences.
You will have high attention to detail, exercise professional judgement and think critically to facilitate strategic objectives. You will also assist in building strong relationships with stakeholders and negotiate the implementation of key projects and initiatives.
The Department is an emergency services organisation and you may be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies.
Where you will be based
This position is located in Cockburn Central, easily accessible by public transport. The Department has an onsite gym, family room, and outdoor undercover courtyard and other services to support your health and wellbeing. The Department is located next to Cockburn Gateway Shopping Centre and many local cafes and restaurants.
