Job description: About the role
In this role, you will be one of Council’s operational advisors in the area of community and open space being responsible for the implementation and activation of community infrastructure and services to the residents of the City of Greater Geelong.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide structured support for staff to enhance quality practices and resource efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organise, and manage time to meet targets and deliver outcomes within set timelines.
- Develop and implement mechanisms for coordinated analysis, planning, and project implementation at both strategic and operational levels.
- Establish and support local governance structures in response to community needs and aspirations.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be motivated, able to respond and take on many tasks at the same time with experience in staff supervision and leadership development.
Essential Experience:
- Experience in one or more areas of community development, sport and recreation and Open Space development and activation.
- Exceptional ability to manage and coordinate complex stakeholder relationships to achieve positive outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic plans, initiatives, and projects.
- Highly developed analytical, investigative, research and reporting skills.
- A current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Sport & Recreation, or a related discipline with several years related experience, or less formal qualifications and extensive related experience.
