About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Mental Health Early Intervention (PEIPOD) service. PEIPOD is a multidisciplinary early intervention service for young people with the recent onset of psychosis or a mood disorder. The purpose of this role is to provide assessment and psychological therapy, work collaboratively with young people across both the inpatient and community settings, and work in close partnership with local non-government organisations

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Senior Social Worker who possess a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people who are able to provide:
- The provision of best practice early intervention strategies in early psychosis and mood disorders, which promote recovery and minimise any possible disability associated with mental illness.
- Ensuring that consumers and/or carers participate in the development and implementation of their own treatment/management plans.
- Applying continuous quality improvement principles within all aspects of clinical practice and participating in the ongoing development and evaluation of St Vincent’s Mental Health Service

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2. Degree in Social Work and eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) with evidence of clinical experience in a tertiary hospital or health related field as a practising Social Worker
3. Unrestricted NSW Driver’s License
4. Ability to work collaboratively with consumers within a recovery framework
5. Experienced clinician with extensive knowledge working within a multidisciplinary team in an inpatient or community mental health service
6. Demonstrated understanding of early intervention principles in the context of emerging mental health problems in young people
7. Experience and commitment to working with young people with complex needs, including homelessness, drug and alcohol use and forensic issues
8. Demonstrated competencies and experience in the provision of clinical supervision and the ability to undertake and lead clinical planning, research, quality improvement, staff education and education projects within the mental health service
