About This Opportunity

The Project Manager is responsible for governance, compliance, and risk-management activities within the Cyber Security team, including managing end-to-end projects across all stages of the project life cycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

Project Planning: Lead governance projects for improving cyber security at the University by planning, managing, and delivering the benefits as outlined in the project plan. This will include undertaking reach and analysis, preparation of project briefs, coordinating tender and vendor evaluation and utilising project management programs/applications/software Jira, and Confluence.

Project Administration and Management: Effectively lead and manage the project team/provide project and administrative support, including risk identification/control, monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones, and deliverables.

Stakeholder engagement and Communication: Identification, engagement, and management of key stakeholders. Undertake appropriate engagement activities across the University developing collateral and support for projects.

Project Governance and Reporting: Working in partnership with the Project Sponsor, support project governance and reporting in accordance with agreed project methodologies and protocols.

Financial Management: Manage the project budget and exercise the relevant financial delegation.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 2 years.

At HEW level 8, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,975 – $122,176, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $127,500 – $142,946 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with postgraduate qualifications (or be in progress towards postgraduate qualifications) in Business, Project Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of qualifications and workplace experience. In addition, you will have:

Demonstrated experience successfully managing medium to large projects, ideally within a large and/or complex organisational context, or within the higher education and/or Cybersecurity sectors.

Demonstrated knowledge of relevant project management tools or equivalent practical methodology for monitoring project progress.

Knowledge of and experience in coordinating vendor selection, alignment, and contract negotiations, with experience using JIRA and Confluence project management programs and applications.

High-level interpersonal skills, including the effective liaison and negotiation skills needed to develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.

Experience leading project team staff, including planning, organising, performance management, recognition, and development of staff.
