Duties

  • Analyzes, designs, documents, develops, integrates, modifies, tests, installs, implements, and supports new or existing Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government off-the-shelf (GOTS)
  • Assists agency Citizen Developers to design, build, and test automations of the workflow for which they are responsible.
  • Collaborates with customer/functional representatives and technical personnel to clarify requirements and gain feedback on solutions.
  • Utilizes UiPath Robotics Process Automation (RPA) software to develop and support solutions that meet end user needs across the Agency.
  • Prepares and executes tests for application validation.
  • Researches and recommends best development practices and innovative UiPath RPA features to improve delivery and quality of the RPA team’s products and services.
  • Analyzes and documents user requirements to identify needs, evaluates technical feasibility, suggests alternate approaches, and develops solutions in terms of software design.
  • Interfaces with functional analysts and developers to determine system change requirements.
  • Participates in project and design reviews for management and functional analysts, project managers, DLA HQ process owners, and customers.
  • Coordinates with others, including system architects and database/OS administrators, in developing and executing a comprehensive test plan and data covering all levels of testing to ensure the integrity of the data base and data movement.
  • Documents, explains, and makes changes to applications required by or for security accreditation and platform certification reviews.
  • Conducts face-to-face or by telephone meetings with contractors, industry, academia, managers, analysts, and coworkers within DLA, DOD, and services/agencies in the logistics community.
  • Supports new or existing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software, specifically UiPath and ServiceNow, to design automation solutions that meet mission objectives.

Qualifications

To qualify for an IT Specialist (APPSW) your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

  • Experience in RPA software development using platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, etc..
  • Use of a variety of application programming languages, e.g., C#, Visual Basic (VB.net), Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, SQL, Bash, UML, Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) etc.
  • General programming tools, techniques, and IDE’s e.g., VS Code, Eclipse, Oracle, version control Git, APIs, performance analysis, static analysis, security checks, Fortify, automated test frameworks, linting, code complexity analysis, Jira etc.
  • Incrementally deliver software using agile and DevSecOps to shift left delivery and reduce cycle time, quickly incorporating feedback.
  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy software.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of software components from design to deprecation and retirement.
  • Leverage model-based software design to document software solutions.
  • Investigate feasibility of alternative design approaches to determine which solution will best satisfies user needs.
  • Prepares software executables, verifies readiness of test site, installation of software at user sites, validates implementation, and verifies support facilities.
  • Research and/or track transaction errors to determine cause.
  • Reports daily transaction errors to appropriate parties for action.

4. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternative, and to make recommendations.
