Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Coordinator – Brooklyn. In this role, the successful candidate The mission of the FHC Research Office is to lead and support research, evaluation, and quality improvement (QI) projects at the Family Health Centers at NYU Langone (FHC). The projects, in turn, will contribute to core goals of the FHC, which are to deliver high-quality primary care to vulnerable individuals and families; use QI practices to reduce health disparities; and provide community-based social services to the populations we serve. Integrating research, community programs, and QI will move the FHC towards becoming a learning health system that both incorporates and generates knowledge to advance health equity.
The FHC Research Office team will expect to draw upon data analysts, a biostatistician, a research assistant, and evaluation consultants. As we build the team and infrastructure to accomplish this mission, we are excited to bring aboard a Research Coordinator (RC). The RC position primarily involves support for coordination and project management of research, evaluation, and QI projects and related administrative tasks at the FHC Research Office.
The Research Coordinator (RC) will be responsible for providing moderate to advanced range of coordination of research studies conducted at the Family Health Centers at NYU Langone and affiliated sites. Assists with project management of research partnerships, research studies, grant submissions, and study coordination and monitoring activities. Supports research recruitment, enrollment, and research data collection activities. Provides administrative coordination support to the Medical Director of Research and Director of Research. Serves as liaison with internal and external funding agencies, research faculty and staff, residents, and other departments at the FHC, NYU, and other partners as required. Assists in the activation and management of research studies. Works under general direction of the Director of Research.
Job Responsibilities:
- Administrative coordination support to the Medical Director of Research.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings and plan events
- Draft and revise Powerpoint presentations
- Support FHC Research Committee review process and steering of new and ongoing research projects.
- Maintain and update REDCap database and project management system with information about meeting dates, discussions, and decisions. Document and monitor project activities, timelines, goals, and publications. Organize and store project reports and documents.
- Schedule meetings involving research teams and relevant FHC teams.
- Assist Director of Research to liaise with FHC finance office to ensure grant documents are produced in time for internal and external submission deadlines.
- Attend meetings and take meeting notes. Maintain records in project management documents.
- Support strategic monitoring of research and FHC research participation
- Maintain inventory of research, QI, and program evaluation projects. Coordinate with research teams and internal FHC contacts to clarify and update information about projects and publications. Generate summary reports for internal and external dissemination.
- Track FHC clinician, staff, and residents’ involvement in research projects and participation in academic and professional conferences.
- Support dissemination of research and outreach for research
- Plan events, such as the annual Community Research Exchange.
- Keep track of conferences or events at which the FHC could present research and QI, drawing on NYU resources for help with this.
- Support FHC-based research studies
- Assist with IRB submissions
- Assist with identifying eligible study participants, recruiting, and enrolling subjects into research studies. Assist in the informed consent process and ensure study participants’ comprehension of the research.
- Assist with developing research databases for projects and enter research data into study-specific databases as required.
- May complete assessments on study subjects/patients following protocol (with proper training)
- Assist with manuscript submission.
Minimum Qualifications:
- To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field.
- Minimum of two years of progressively responsible project coordination experience, preferably in an academic research setting.
- Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external departments and organizations.
- Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work volume; identify, analyze, and solve problems; work well under Pressure.
- Willingness to complete training and receive certification to perform EKG and phlebotomy if required
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual Spanish language proficiency preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 – $72,080.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
